American Family Association Poll a Hoax

Filed under: Politics, The News — Gevalt @ 4:46 pm

You’ve probably received an email similar to the one below. You’ve probably received it as a forward a few times. Apparently it’s a hoax. According to one of our friends it’s not a poll at all, just a sign up for a petition against Ford’s policies of inclusiveness for LGBT folks. Don’t be fooled, and DEFINITELY don’t sign the petition. The link I received no longer works, but I went on the AFA website. This is some scary shit. If you like horror films, go take a look. The page on Ford is particularly frightening and bizarre. Among the points against Ford: they’re highly reated for efforts to increase diversity. For Shame!!

AFA Online Polling
Where the grassroots are heard
A project of American Family Association

Should corporations be promoting homosexuality?

Take our poll. We will send the results to the largest corporations in America . Several corporations are now supporting the homosexual agenda. These companies have been convinced by homosexual activists and the mainstream media that in order to be “fair and tolerant”, companies must make special rules for homosexuals and provide company money and resources to help promote their lifestyle. Many companies, including Ford Motor Company and Eli Lilly and Company, have begun to support same-sex marriage.

Please forward this poll to your friends and family. Corporations
need to know how Americans feel about companies promoting
homosexuality.

Terrorist Act Targets Jerusalem Pride 2007

Filed under: The News — Gevalt @ 11:48 am

Here we are again entering the season for pride in many major cities around the world.  And here we are again reading about an attack on those festivities in Jerusalem.  The attack never made it to the actual march, but it was planned to.

EDGE Boston :: Gay Boston :: News :: GLBT:

An early morning explosion outside Jerusalem April 20 has been linked to the discovery of leaflets condemning this year’s gay pride march in the holy city. The detonation occurred in the vineyard of Beit Jamal monastery when a tractor drove over a pipe bomb device, resulting in minor injuries to the driver. Police are eyeing Ultra-Orthodox organizations, such as the ones that have threatened past marches, in the incident. As yet, it is not clear why the bomb was placed in the vineyard, but anti-pride march leaflets were discovered nearby. Police suspect that Ultra Orthodox Jews from Ramat Beit Shemesh, located near the monastery, may be involved.

In Israel, Born to…

Filed under: Israel, Life — Gevalt @ 8:07 pm

We received this from our friend Gabe while he was in Israel for Pesach:

spotted this on the sidewalk in Tel Aviv yesterday! :)

(For those of you who don’t get the reference, there’s a show on Israeli TV these days that’s something like Dancing with the Stars and it’s called נולד לרקוד.  So this is a take-off…)

Cheers,
Gabe

Gay Men with Time to Make Peace, One Piece at a time

Filed under: Politics — Gevalt @ 12:20 pm

Gays blog for Mideast peace - Israel Culture, Ynetnews:

Two American Jews living in Israel launch gay blog in a mission to unite Jewish and Arab gay men who believe in peace

The blog, Mideast Piece, warns:

This blog contains adult themes and may get really dirty and graphic at times. So be sure you’re 18+ and have an open mind. Also links on this blog might take you to very adult content and definitely aren’t work safe.

It’s a fun read, and very gay-male-centric (which it says from the outset “Uniting Gay Men for Peace.”)
Not sure what it will do for Peace in the Middle East, but at least you can plausibly insist “I read it for the articles.”

Homless Gay Teens in NY Need Your Help

Filed under: Life — Gevalt @ 11:34 am

As we find our freedom during this Pesach and Easter season, we also
remember the imperative to work for the freedom of others wherever oppression is found.  I thought many of you would be both interested and able to help with the need for donations to a new 24-hour shelter for LGBT youth in NYC.  I know you all have extended networks of generous friends and colleagues.  Please pass this on to as many folks as you think might be able to lend a hand.  It is AMAZING what people will give when asked personally. Thanks and joyous holidays to all!  Kate
